The Edmonton Oilers are giving one of their top young forwards a look with the regular season winding down.
The team recalled Isaac Howard from the AHL's Bakersfield Condors on Sunday.
In his first professional season, Howard has been a standout in the American Hockey League, recording 22 goals and 47 points in 45 games with Bakersfield.
The 22-year-old has also appeared in 28 games with Edmonton, scoring two goals and five points and last played in the NHL back on Jan. 24.
Selected 31st overall in the 2022 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning, Howard was acquired by the Oilers in exchange for Sam O’Reilly, who was selected 32nd overall in the 2024 entry draft.
Edmonton clinched a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Saturday after the Winnipeg Jets lost to the Philadelphia Flyers.
